How did you get started as a blogger?
i was always inspired by the fashion and beauty bloggers I followed, and I honestly woke up one day and just decided I was going to do this. I literally dove in head first and haven't taken a day off since! No regrets.
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
BlThe people I've met! Whether it's through collaborations or just other bloggers, I feel a huge sense of community.
If you had to choose, what's your favorite topic to blog about and why?
It's SO hard to decide! I love the topics I blog about (fashion, beauty, and travel), but I suppose I primarily focus on fashion so by default I'd have to pick that topic.
Did you blog when you previously lived in NYC and if so, how has your blog evolved since moving home to AZ?
I did not blog when I lived in NYC, but honestly it's one of my biggest regrets! I wish I had started sooner, because I love NYC and the people there are so amazing. I know I would have had some awesome experiences, but I am going to be back soon and will definitely do some posts about it! Stay tuned 🙂 My blog has really started and evolved entirely in AZ. Although I think NYC would have some additional opportunities, AZ has an incredible community and I don't feel like anything is lost
What is your must have style piece for this Summer?
100% I've been living in jumpsuits and my Steve Madden Irenee Sandals. They're a must have for summer!
Do you tend to follow trends or stick to your own path? And why?
A little bit of both. If it's trendy and suits my style, I'm all about it! But I will never wear something just because it's "in". I hated the cabby hat look on me, so I just didn't wear it. Super cute on some other girls out there, but not my style, so I just couldn't rock it.
If you had to choose 3 beauty products to use for the rest of your life, what would they be?
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara, MAC Japanese Maple lipstick, and Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo. I use them all daily! I can't live without them.
ADVICE / TIPS:
You seem to work with a lot of great brands which is so amazing babe! Do you have any tips for landing collaborations you truly want?
Aw thank you! I feel honored to have worked with some amazing brands. The best advise I have is to always stay true to yourself! I turn down collaborations (both paid and unpaid) all of the time, if I don't think it's a fit. I felt really justified after listening to Julie Solomon's podcast, because she stresses this. Keep your own voice, and be ok with reaching out to companies who may say no! I never consider it a "no," I see it as a "maybe later."
What's been the hardest lesson blogging has taught you thus far?
I've been lucky to have had an overall great experience, but it really is interesting seeing some of the behind the scenes blogger tactics. Some of them I don't agree with, but that's the beauty of social media... you can do you!! I also have seen a lot of bloggers be super hard and critical of themselves and compare themselves to everyone else. I've learned to go into it with low expectations and just have fun! It seems to be working and I'm having so much fun every single day.
It looks like you publish a new post about 2-3 times per week... Has that helped in your success? And how long did it take you to get in that routine?
