Get excited. It’s time to monetize your Instagram with affiliate links from any and every platform you use.
Tagging products on instagram lets you monetize in a way that is reliable and not dependent on third party apps. You can diversify your affiliate income by using multiple platforms and use your blog as home base instead of a platform you don’t control.
THERE ARE 2 WAYS to do this.
METHOD 1 is through publishing affiliate products to your own blog. This let's you create a "shop" page of your products with sub pages for categories and tags if you want. These products are then published to facebook and instagram - letting you tag the products in the posts. This is the method we 100% recommend since it means your shop is your home base platform and you can manage products and your shop page through adding the affiliate links you want. This means your affiliate products are managed through your own shop page which means you can sort and customize by category or tags. It also means more traffic to your own blog.
For this method, we have an entire video e-course to walk you through the step by step for setting up your tech.
METHOD 2 is by creating a spreadsheet of all the products you want to be able to tag and then uploading it to facebook as a product catalog. You will then have to re-upload this spreadsheet every time you want to update / change a product but this will let you publish to facebook and instagram. This method does not let you automatically create a shop page and categories published on your own site. That will have to be created separately.
Once you get shopping set up, this is how easy it is to link a product:
METHOD #1 - Publishing affiliate products to your blog, via #TAPTOSHOP:
A Step-by-step Guide for Tagging Products on Instagram & Facebook
Through this course, you will learn how to publish affiliate products to your own blog, then publish them to a shop page on facebook and a catalog for instagram. This means your affiliate products are managed through your own shop page which means you can sort and customize by category or tags. It also means more traffic to your own blog.
This is especially key with the new Liketoknow.it change that means people can no longer “like” to get product details via email. they now have to screenshot and upload the photo in order to shop.
Or….they could shop your look literally right in their feed:
In this course, we’ll cover each of these step-by-step:
Setting up Facebook Business Manager for your Blog’s Page
Installing Woo-commerce (WordPress)
Installing the Facebook Feed Plugin (WordPress)
Creating and publishing your products
Enabling Shopping on your instagram account
Tagging products on Instagram to create shoppable posts
ALTERNATE METHOD: Product Catalogs (If you don’t have a plugin that can create your facebook feed for you)
- What a Product Catalog is
- How to create a Product Catalog
- How to upload your product Catalog
Setting up a product catalog - a.k.a a spreadsheet you update consistently.
This process is a little tedious to set up and maintain, but worth it if you really want to be able to tag on instagram.
P.S. the ecourse actually walks you thorough all this via a video tutorial as the "ALTERNATE METHOD" so if you need a really visual step by step that's the way to go.
